LOCATION: Völlur, Reykjanesbær, South Iceland
PROJECT: Design and construct a sun/play deck, benches and a new front of school dynamic
DATE: 2015
The brief at this school included re-thinking the front section to provide a more aesthetic visual dynamic. As is our usual practice ,we encouraged parent involvement and had several working weekends where building and painting jobs were assigned to those willing. With minimal time and budget we introduced a strategic color palette and some wood cladding onto the front visage. At the back of the school we created a mud free play area/sun-deck with benches for both teachers and children.
