Linda Mjöll Stefánsdóttir
As a Production Designer within the industry of film and television, Linda would describe herself as a storyteller and creator of environments/worlds/situations, where her objective is to translate, or tell a specific story in the most effective manner. The process of establishing a world within a feature film, which tells a given story, requires: sensing, humility, listening, dreaming, gathering information, team-building, resourcefulness, organizational skills, budget making, drawing, building and completion of all tasks with maximum effect. This is essentially the basis of what she still does, although the projects have become more diverse.
Having resided in London from the age of 11 – 37, Linda’s return to Iceland marked a new beginning in a diverse marketplace, that met her with open arms. Apart from feature films, TV dramas and commercials, her work soon expanded to include other areas of production, such as interior design, events, promotional installations and exhibition design.
Daníel Hjörtur Sigmundsson
Having grown up within a large family, all intrinsically well disposed to engineering and building, Daníel, from his earliest memories, began to construct all that he could dream of. Playing involved: building boats and launching them into the sea, finding ways of harnessing wind power in order to fly, making his own clothes, experimenting with fire in the cellar and finding out if grass would grow on cars…it did!
All his brothers became engineers, and although Daníel had been head hunted by local craftsmen from an early age and encouraged into a woodwork apprenticeship,he felt the urge to study Sociology at the University of Iceland. Later he combined those studies with his natural skills as a builder/sculptor and started working with young disabled people through crafts. Sculpting soon followed and at the age of 25 he carved his first sculpture out of wood. Years of combining these extensive skill sets have generated an artist driven by passion and spontaneity with a dynamic ability to create and build anything he puts his mind to.
